CALIPSO

Hello, let's continue our journey! Our next mission is to send off the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observation (CALIPSO) into orbit. When the concentrations of aerosols, small particles carried through the air, increase past a certain limit, they can negatively affect public health and the climate of Earth. The purpose of CALIPSO is to test altitudes of aerosol levels that other forms of technology cannot. CALIPSO also improves weather and climate prediction by analyzing clouds and producing insightful reports and 3-D models.
